Day 8 - Miaoli and Tamsui (New Taipei City Hall46)
— Filip and Tim
Today began our second to last day in Taiwan.
We began the morning in Miaoli with breakfast together with the local saints who were hosting us. The fellowship was very precious. One dear elderly sister, in her 80s, was caring for her husband who has dementia, yet still opened their home to us. It felt like a real treasure to stay with a couple who came into the recovery in the 1950s and participated in those early gospel marches. The brother had also served as a translator for Brother Lee in Japan.
He had been a doctor, serving the local community when the area was still largely farmland. Today, their home and former clinic have been opened for the church and now serve as a meeting hall.
We then gathered at 9 a.m. in the Miaoli meeting hall for further fellowship and blending. The saints prepared snacks, tea and coffee as we fellowshipped over two main subjects: the vital groups and the campus work.
The responsible brothers gave us walkthrough presentations of these two areas, with many practical insights, and the saints and students reinforced them by sharing their personal experiences.
Some of the key statements and highlights were:
• The small group meeting is a vital group; it is not primarily for Bible study or getting into the truth. It is focused on burden, fellowship and living.
• A vital person is desperate and absolute.
• The environment cannot be an excuse; we must be further perfected and expanded in our practice.
The brothers also highlighted the three main functions of the vital groups: retaining the existing ones, recovering the backslidden ones, and preaching the gospel to gain new ones.
After the fellowship, we were taken to a Japanese restaurant for lunch and then went on to do a little sightseeing in the area before boarding a high-speed train to New Taipei, Tamsui District—an area where Halls 45, 46 and 52 meet.
Two brothers from Miaoli accompanied us all the way to hand us over to the saints in Tamsui. We were very shepherded how the brothers would join us in every place and felt like baton being passed in an Olympic race with love and care.
The saints welcomed us at the station and took us for dinner in a nearby Italian restaurant, where we continued to blend and fellowship.
After dinner, we were brought to the meeting hall 46 to join many local saints for singing and presentations of the local church life and campus work, with the UK brothers also sharing some of the current burdens and reports.
The local saints prepared small souvenir bags for each of the UK brothers, and we were taken to our accommodation shortly after the meeting.

NOTES FROM THE FELLOWSHIP WITH THE LEADING BROTHERS IN KAOHSIUNG AND MIAOLI
Lessons from the history of the churches in Taiwan on Receiving the Blessing for the Increase
- Having a solid foundation – purity versus quantity
- Closely following the ministry – paying the price to go to the seven annual feasts
- Practicing the God-ordained way in one accord
- Perfecting – for all ages; through joining the seven annual feasts, conducting trainings and facilitating corporate living; areas of perfecting may include PSRP and the gospel
Fellowship on Fruit-bearing
- Requires three elements – prayer (not much talking but praying), the Spirit and the Word
- Three ways of going – praying, giving, going
- God’s blessing comes through the one accord. Regarding this, brother Lee shared three items with the brothers in Kaohsiung: (1) blend together, (2) visit all the saints’ families, and (3) fellowship with the Body
Local Considerations for the Seven Annual Feasts
- Having a long-term view
- Considering varied levels of financial support by the church: e.g. (1) support for elders/responsible ones with the expectation that they will be exercised to overcome the jet lag and communication barriers and come back to respeak the messages for local trainings; (2) partial support for students which may be based on their attendance and verse memorization
- importance of creating opportunities to encourage students to attend
- fellowshipping with parents to shoulder the cost (may be applicable for those whose parents are in the church life)
Encouraging Young People who are Neither Negative nor Pursuing
- There may be some dissatisfaction as a result of merely inheriting things (like meeting halls) and not needing to fight for anything. For the church to go on, it might be good for the younger ones to initiate something (like the KYBC).
Three Points on Vital Groups
1. Significance of the practice of the vital groups – for the increase, for shepherding and perfecting
2. Difference between a vital group and a small group – Small group and vital group refer to the same thing. A vital group is not a Bible-reading group nor merely a ministry reading group. They have a burden, they fellowship, and they are vital. Finally, in addition to having group meetings, they go out to visit the sick and the backslidden ones week by week.
3. How to have a vital living: there are seven pillars in the practice of the vital groups
a. The living has to be regulated by life
b. Being revived every day
c. Pursuing the truth – entering into the Bible and Life-studies
d. Having a set time to pray
e. Having an intimate relationship with the Lord
f. Not abandoning the meetings
g. Sanctifying our finances – being faithful to offer at least 10%

Day 6 — Tainan to Kaohsiung
— Festus & Mark
We began the day with breakfast and fellowship at our place of accommodation before joining the perfecting meeting of the church in Tainan (which is held every week at 9 AM) where Message 3 from the recent ICSC was covered. The saints here are being perfected in the aspects of truth, life, and function.
Following this, we had fellowship with the responsible brothers and serving ones, which emphasized the importance of perfecting each age group. This session also included Q&Rs. Some of the questions asked were:
Q: Can PSRP be done in group meetings?
Response:
A brother shared a principle in service: “All our activities and service must be governed by three ways (based on Ephesians 4:13):
1. In truth (until we all arrive at the oneness of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God) — High peak truth
2. In life (at a full-grown man) — God-man living
3. In function (at the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ) — Shepherding according to God
He further explained why we need to PSRP:
1. Pray until you have the enjoyment
2. Study for understanding
3. Recite the points
4. Prophesy — to speak. What you hear is not yours yet; what you speak becomes yours.
Q: What if only a few are joining the Resposible Ones’ meetings? How can we build up the brothers’ meeting?
Response:
A brother mentioned that, according to Brother Lee, the coordination meeting is the hardest. Therefore, in coordination meeting we should:
1. Pray — each coordination should lead us into the Holy of Holies. If we are not in the spirit, we will argue. The main goal is to lead the saints to be in the spirit
2. Have revelation (pursuit) — as the basis of understanding each service
3. Have an agenda — and this agenda should have the following three points:
(1) PEOPLE - how are they doing?
(2) MEETING - what is the condition?
(3) MATTERS - upcoming events etc.
*This should be the order.
Q: What if the brothers do not have the heart to serve?
Response:
* We must respect the coordination meeting. In the church life, we cannot speak without action. If we cannot participate, we should not have an opinion.
* We should not serve merely because of responsibility; rather, we should serve because we have been commissioned.
*We must not tell the saints what to do, but instead encourage them to blend:
1. Blend in heart — through thorough fellowship
2. Blend in spirit — through prayer
3. Blend in the Word — to have the same vision
4. Blend in burden
5. Blend in movement
After lunch, we toured the meeting place, which was thoughtfully designed to accommodate different activities and functions, and with the view of the church as a house and a garden. We were then given some free time to explore the area and purchase local goods.
At around 4:15 PM, we departed for Kaohsiung, where we were divided into groups to have dinner and fellowship with the saints.

Day 5 - Taichung and Tainan
— Saulius & Albert
Brothers had breakfast at the hotel and left to go to Hall 1.
Hall 1 building was built on the original site of the first meeting hall in Taichung which was purchased after saints outgrew the capacity of the family house next to it.
Here we joined the perfecting meeting for the saints starting with the fellowship regarding message 3 from the recent ICSC to help the saints practice prophesying and fellowship regarding the practice of the small groups with some very encouraging testimonies from local saints.
After the perfecting meeting local serving brothers gave a review of their labour with children, young people and University students.
The children's serving ones shared that children have a great potential for the gospel and can also be the fruit of the gospel. The saints labour to perfect the parents to shepherd the children to propagate children's group meetings.
* Home nurturing (serving saints create materials for parents to spend some time daily with their children in the morning and evening relating to character and Bible stories)
* Lord's day education
* Group cultivation
The labour with young people take their parents as the center with serving saints and students support to cultivate and perfect the young people to be Gospel seeds today, pillars tomorrow, overcomers in the future.
Afterwards we had lunch and watched a video presentation of the history of the church in Taichung. Brothers also gave some history regarding current meeting hall.
Then brothers arranged some time for us with elders and coworkers to have more fellowship regarding the practice of the God-ordained way in the groups.
When we read the ministry of the word we should make it our practice. Before having group meeting according to ministry we should become vital persons. We need to have vital companions for prayer and have a list of some people to pray for them.
3 elements in vital groups:
1. Flowing of the divine love
2. Shining of divine light
3. Executing God's will
Entering into this group should become our salvation.
1. We need to turn from meeting to people. Focus on people to allow the flow of the divine love. Fellowship becomes flow of the divine love. For us to love the saints we need thorough and clear fellowship with them.
2. Shining of His light. Main point is to ask and answer. We need to learn that we are nobody. Q&A - learn to ask questions and answer questions to be saved from doctrines.
3. For the vital group to execute and fulfill God's will we need to learn to pray for one another and our contacts. God's will carried out through the group has 3 aspects:
* Uphold the existing saints.
* Recover the backsliding or dormant ones by using prayer list and praying for them. Function of the Vital group is to restore backsliding ones.
* Preach the Gospel. Everyone in the group should make a list of all acquaintances. Once we repent the Lord is able to give new ones.
Saints testified that they are full of joy now in their labour together. We need to give our all to build these vital groups.
After this fellowship the brothers drove us to Tainan to the meeting hall that is located next to the University campus.
Here we had dinner with the local brothers and got to meet the students who live in the meeting hall/student centre and were having a gospel dinner where they can invite their gospel friends.
Afterwards brothers gave a presentation of the church life here with some encouraging testimonies of their experiences in the small groups. They gave the brothers from the UK an opportunity to share about the church life in their localities and share regarding the burden for the building of the new training centre in London. We concluded with strong prayer and left to our host homes for hospitality.

Day 4 - Taipei & Taichung
— Youngchul & Richard
Brothers met for breakfast at Hall 67. The meeting hall used to be a dental clinic and was purchased two years ago. Recently, the surrounding area has been developed with new residential housing, and it is expected that around 20,000 people will move into the area in the near future.
Shuttled to Hall 10 the brothers visited the site of a building project to construct a 15 storey building for accommodation and to replace the existing meeting hall etc. Such government-owned land is typically impossible to buy. However, it was purchased from by a man who approached the church elders, contacting the church office. The former owner had demolished the original building and was willing to sell the land to the church because it was difficult to sell to others due to narrow access. Since acquiring the land it has increased in value by £3 million.
The estimated total cost for this building project is £30 million, including the demolition of the existing Hall 10 building to make way for the new building.
The brothers gathered in small groups at the site of the future H10 building to pray for this as well as the current UK Building Project for the new FTTL Training Centre.
The brothers also visited the current site of the new Hall 87 and Hall 89, in the Wenshan district, a former private property. It was purchased for £2 million, although the original asking price was £7 million. The owner had intended to build the property for their own use but could not complete the project, and it eventually became abandoned. The brothers later found the place, negotiated the price down, and acquired it.
The building is constructed with high-quality materials, including exterior tiles, interior flooring, and window frames. It has five floors plus a basement. The remaining work (mainly completing the basement) will cost about £400,000. Some of the funds have been allocated from the church office in Taipei, with rental payments from the Xinji building also contributing. The brothers also testified of how thirty local young people also gave £1000 towards this project.
During this time a brother shared that there are currently 40,0000 saints out of a population of 250,000 in Wenshan District meeting at least once a month.
Following the site visits, the brothers enjoyed a trip to the riverside at Bitan some opting for the boat rides, others stopping for coffee, followed by lunch and more fellowship.
One of the local full timers reported as of March 2026, the average Lord’s Table attendance in Taipei was 11,792 with 1235 saints meeting in Wenshan District 1. In total there are about 17,000 saints who enjoy a weekly church life.
The brothers returned to H67 for the next stage of the trip to Taichung.
Checked in hotel in Taichung and then joined local brothers at restaurant, with arrangements made to encourage the UK brothers blending and fellowship with the local brothers.

Day 3 - Hall 3
— Chien & Rafal
- Visited the Museum of the Lord’s Recovery
- Brother Moses Chu gave us an introduction and a history of the ministry work in Taiwan
- Visited Hall 1 and the Gospel Bookroom
- Lunch at a dumpling restaurant (Yum!)
- Serving saints fellowship with us on how they conduct their small groups in Taipei
- Dinner at Hall 10, Wenshan District
- Saints shared their work in Hall 10, and we shared the burden for the building of the training centre in London.
Small group meetings characteristics:
- First section: fellowship, prayer, and intercession — we can be in one district and not know one another, so there is a need to know one another.
- Second section: pursuing the truth and asking questions — we should all be both teachers and students.
- Third section: the gospel and dormant saints — we should ask ourselves who is no longer meeting, and perhaps visit them after the meeting

Day 2 - Hall 82 and 86 in Taiwan
— Timothy & Peter
- Lord’s table meeting with saints in Hall 82
- Love feast
- Palace Museum
- Dinner with saints in Hall 86
In the National Palace Museum in Taipei, there is a painting on a long scroll called “The River Scene at Ching-Ming Festival.” It [41] describes in detail the culture, life, and way of the Chinese people at the time of the painting. It is not enough to see only the first few portions of that long scroll. One has to go all the way from one end to the other end before he can have a clear picture, or “vision,” of the entire spectrum of life in China. In the same way we have our own painting, our “River Scene at Ching-Ming,” in our service to God. It begins from Adam’s vision of the tree of life in the garden of Eden and extends all the way to the New Jerusalem with the tree of life. The New Jerusalem is the last scene of the vision. After that there is nothing more to be seen.
